## Safety Tips

At Edinburgh's Hogmanay, we take your safety and security seriously. We work closely with the Police and Emergency services to encourage everyone to help keep each other safe this winter.

We ask you to help by staying alert and trusting your instincts. 

While you’re with us, you will see our security team & stewards, who are there to help you if you need it. If something doesn’t feel right, tell them straight away and they will do the rest.

In an emergency, call 999.

## Follow these easy steps for an unforgettable Edinburgh's Hogmanay

DO check the last entry times, and gate, on your ticket and arrive early. 

DO appreciate that bags may be searched on entry for safety reasons. 

DO drink responsibly. Management reserve the right to refuse entry. 

DO think about how you will be getting home. Late night [Hogmanay Bus and Trams services](https://edwinterfest.com/hogmanay/getting-here-and-home) will be operating after the event to get you home safely.

DO check the forecast and dress for the weather. Remember that Edinburgh’s Hogmanay takes place in the middle of Scottish winter, so wrap up warm!

DO look after your friends and arrange meeting points in case you become separated. 

DO listen out for announcements and follow any instructions given out – they are for your benefit. 

DO let a police officer or steward know if you see anything suspicious. 

DO get to know where the emergency services are stationed. First aiders are located throughout the arena. Please ask one of our stewards if you require medical assistance.

DON’T forget your e-ticket– you won’t get into the ticketed arenas without them. 

DON’T bring or accept drugs, banned substances, or “legal highs” (legal doesn’t mean safe). 

DON’T bring any glass, including bottles. 

DON’T bring any prohibited items. This includes no **Glass**, **Drones**, **Flares** or **Smoke Canisters**, **Chinese Lanterns**, **Portable Laser Equipment /** **Pens**, **Pyrotechnics / Fireworks**,** Umbrellas**, **Dogs or Animals**(except registered assistance dogs), or** unauthorised professional film or camera equipment**.

DON’T expect entry if you have had too much to drink. Management reserve the right to refuse entry.

Please download your e-ticket to your digital device and have the QR code ready to be scanned on the night at your chosen entry gate. Google and Apple wallet have been enabled to make this easier. Please be aware that internet access may be limited due to the large number of people in the area. 

This must be scanned at your chosen Entrance Gate to access the event. All tickets in your order will be validated upon scan, please make sure your whole party arrives together.

Official Edinburgh’s Hogmanay ticket sales are through our own website (edinburghshogmanay.com), edwinterfest.com and Ticketmaster ONLY. Any tickets purchased through other third-party websites, such as Eventbrite or social media comment sections, are not official tickets and therefore invalid and will not permit entry to events. 

Street party tickets are currently available from this website ONLY. Please do not purchase from third party sellers/scammers as these tickets will not be valid on the night. 

### Bear in mind 

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay outdoor events are very busy, all-standing and in the middle of the Scottish winter, so please dress for the weather. 

**Phone signal in the area will be limited**, so **come prepared with your tickets downloaded** and **arrange a meeting point**with your friends. Be advised Street Party tickets do not allow access into the Concert in the Gardens or any other advertised Festival events. 

There will be access to extensive range of outdoor bars, street food and toilets throughout the Street Party / Concert in the Gardens arena. 

No persons under 12yrs permitted at the Night Afore Concert, Street Party or Concert in the Gardens events. Anyone under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult over 18yrs of age.
