Community Tickets

We are so excited to announce the return of our Community Ticket Initiative this year, where we will once again spread some Christmas cheer into our community by gifting tickets for Edinburgh’s Christmas attractions, including the Christmas Tree Maze and Big Wheel, to local charities and community groups. We welcome interest from those who work with refugees, people with disabilities, young carers and other disadvantaged groups, so that we can create a magical and accessible Edinburgh’s Christmas for as many as possible this festive season!

To ensure the initiative is as fair as possible, we will be using a formal application process. Charities and community groups will use this to highlight the work they do, and the impact that Community Tickets would have on them and the people they work with.

The Community Ticket Initiative will provide charities, community groups, and volunteer organisations with tickets and tokens for events at Edinburgh’s Christmas between 15 November 2024 and 4 January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for groups and individuals who would otherwise not have the chance to attend Edinburgh’s Christmas to visit attractions, including the Big Wheel, Ice Rink, Family Fun Fair and the Christmas Tree Maze!

Applications are now open and will close at 23:59 on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Applicants will be informed of the status of their requests by Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

T&Cs:

Please note that Community Tickets is an initiative supporting charities and community groups in and around Edinburgh. These tickets are intended for free-to-attend, community-funded outreach groups and charities. If you represent a pay-to-attend group, we offer alternative ticketing initiatives, such as our Group Booking discount. All applications will be considered individually.

Tickets will be limited per applicant/group and will be subject to eligibility and availability. We will only consider one application per organisation. We cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive the number or type of Community Tickets that they applied for.

Tickets and tokens may only be used between Monday and Thursday and MUST BE BOOKED by Friday, 22 November 2024, is essential. Bookings must be made at least 48 hours before the chosen date or session, and they will be subject to availability.

For successful applicants:

The applicant must collect allocated ride tokens from the West Princes Street Gardens Box Office, and all ride tokens must be collected together. The applicant can then distribute the ride tokens.

Allocated tickets for the Big Wheel, the Christmas Tree Maze, Ice Skating and Santa Stories will be emailed to the applicant as an e-ticket. These e-tickets will only be valid for the date you have selected, so groups must attend on the same day.

School groups cannot use Community Tickets, but a separate initiative is available for schools to use. Tickets gifted through the Community Ticket initiative must not be resold or used as raffle prizes.

Transport to and from Edinburgh’s Christmas will not be provided.

Applications are now closed.
